I got my son the Vita on Saturday. I'd been hearing so much about it, I was really excited to get it to see what it looks like. My first impression was how light it is. It really doesn't weigh much at all. We also picked up Mod Nation Racer, Resistance and Lego Batman. When we first got it, it wasn't charged. After about 10 minutes of charging, it came on. The screen is UNBELIEVABLY crisp. It is GORGEOUS! It is also MASSIVE! IT. IS. MASSIVE. The touch screen is very responsive. The menu and navigation is really easy and pretty self explanatory. With everyone having smart phones, if you can navigate a phone, you can navigate this device. We got the WIFI version, and watching movies or browsing the internet is really fun and easy. The camera is very sharp and very quick. I'm not a fan of the awkward holding of it. The joysticks are TINY. Both of those statements would be said about any hand held device, so I guess you should know that going in. It isn't as uncomfortable as the 3DS, but it's not like holding an XBOX 360 controller or anything. After spending a few days with it, it is outstanding. The price is just insane. Refurbs are $199, and new they are $250 - - and that is without the memory card, which is about the size of a flea. Overall, if I had to buy a handheld machine, it would be this one. And that is exactly what we plan on doing.
